Softrock Petroleums Ltd. Changes Name to Softrock Minerals Ltd.
Softrock has a 10% net interest in two exclusive oil and gas Exploration Licenses in South Turkey which together comprise approximately 250,000 gross acres. The operator, Epic Resources (BC) Ltd., recently announced that the property has been optioned to Petromin Resources Ltd. of Vancouver, B.C. Petromin can earn interests in one or both licenses by conducting seismic investigations followed by its election to drill one or more wells.
In a further announcement, Dighem I-Power have completed helicopter-EM/MAGNETIC surveys over parts of Softrock's Qaqortoq ("Kaakor-tok") License in southwest Greenland and its Lindenow License in southeast Greenland. Softrock's 6-member geological party have been on location since August 1, 1997. At least two prospects, one nickel-copper and one gold, are expected to be brought to the drilling stage this year.
Softrock intends conducting further ground geophysics over sections of an earlier reported, 8-km long massive sulphide prospect located on the Corporation's 100%-owned Kangerlussuaq property in west Greenland. Ni-Cu targets will be prioritized for drilling later this year as funds become available. Year round drilling is practical in this area where mild temperatures and low precipitation are the norm.
Softrock trades on the Alberta Stock Exchange under the trading symbol "SFT".
