News ReleaseMay 1, 2006SOFTROCK MINERALS ANNOUNCES FURTHER DRILLING IN SPARKY AREASoftrock Minerals announces that due to the success of its earlier reported discovery extension to the Saskatchewan Sparky oilfield the group (SFT-30%) is to start preparing a stepout one-half mile north of the successful A-9 discovery. It is hoped that, depending on rig availability, the new well which is on the same 3-D seismic, as A-9 will be drilled within two months. The new test will validate options which may give the Softrock group four or five more locations to drill. The A-9 well has been on test since October 2005 with different sized pumps and production techniques. In the month of March (the last and best month) it averaged 150 BOPD. Softrock's thirty percent share is 45 BOPD with the 12 degree oil selling for just over $30 per barrel.
