News ReleaseMarch 17 , 2009SOFTROCK MINERALS LTD. TO TEST WEST ALBERTA OSTRACOD OIL SHOWSoftrock Minerals Ltd (SFT- TSE-V) president, Nick Taylor reports that all the legal requirements for a twenty percent (20%) working interest, subject to its share of a ten percent GORR in a recently drilled and cased well, PFM Minhik No. 7-35, on a 640 acre Alberta crown lease, have been finalized. Softrock paid its 20 % share in the well drilled and cased in 2008 but completion was delayed until all title and legal problems had been solved. The lease, approximately 12 kilometers south of the Pembina field in western Alberta, includes all formations between the surface and base of the Cretaceous. Swab and pump testing of an indicated oil probability in the Cretaceous Ostracod zone at about 2048 meters will be commencing in the next two or three weeks. Logs also indicate three or more gas bearing zones up hole, which with the presence of a gas line within one and one-half miles, could merit further drilling or testing.
