Softrock Minerals Ltd (SFT on the TSV Venture Exchange) announces that it is participating in its first drilling of a test well since it was reorganized in early 2003.

It will pay 40% to earn 30% in the Silver Strand Manito A9-31-44-27 W3 test in the Manitou Lake area of north-west Saskatchewan.

The well is a 625 meter test of the Sparky heavy oil sand and lies one-half mile west of Sparky production in Section 32 adjoining.

The well is expected to spud and complete between June 6 and June 12 next week with Silver Strand doing the operating.
