Softrock Minerals Ltd (SFT on the TSV venture Exchange) announces that a 30 percent interest well that it had earlier announced as encountering 3 meters of Sparky oil sand pay in the Manitou Lake area of western Saskatchewan has now run a two week production test.

The well, SSEC Manito A9-31-44-27W3 has pumped an average between 10 and 12 cubes per day heavy oil (12 to 14 degrees API) with no water. This amount, added to the present oil and gas production of Softrock, means that Softrock is now producing 28 BOE per day.

From 3-D seismic there appears to be at least one more productive location on the lease and as well, the group in which Softrock continues to hold 30 percent interest, has been successful in acquiring an adjoining lease with seismic indicating four or five more locations.
